Homework
One of the best ways you can help your child succeed with homework is by setting up a CONSISTENT homework structure that includes:
- A quiet, organized and comfortable place to work
- A consistent and regularly scheduled time for homework (Example: After snack, before soccer, in the morning—if that is when your child works best. Just be sure to look ahead and allot enough time).
- A place in the house for homework supplies. A “Homework Survival Kit” containing supplies needed to do homework (pencils, erasers, glue, folders, paper, etc.).
- An understanding between parent and child that their work is being monitored for quality and that it should reflect their very best effort. Students should be encouraged to try to solve problems independently, rather than relying on family members for answers.
